Fast Friday Tips

Techniques 11 December 2009 | 2 Comments

TGIF!  Happy Friday, everyone.  Today I have a few quick and simple tips for you.  I like to mix things up, and try new techniques, so I thought I would share a bit of what I have tried this week.

First, I created a mini book using A Girl’s Best Friend metallic papers and black and white.  That’s it.  I covered the album with the metallics and created all of my embellishments with my Silhouette and white and black cardstock and paint.  Want a sneak peek of how it turned out?

100_9275Give it a try!  It is totally different but very fun, and I like the results.

Here’s another tip.  For those of you (like me) without good photo editing software or the technical know-how to alter photos to black and white with selected areas of color, an easy solution is to print 2 of the same photo, one in black and white, the other in color.  Then cut the areas you want in color out of your color photo and layer them onto your black and white photo.  It’s a simple thing that makes a big impact.

100_9278I hope those simple tips give you an extra boost of creativity for your weekend projects!  See you back here on Monday for the whole metallic mini album!

    Alyssa,

I love that idea about cutting out colored pieces to layer on top of black and white photos. That’s fantastic!
