I felt exactly the same way before I really started writing and just letting myself be as superficial or as spiritual or as ridiculous as I wish on my blog. For over two years the stuff has flowed out for me-a wonderful way to creatively blow off steam.
Have you considered adding several social bookmarking links to these sites. At the very least for twitter.
Have you considered adding some differing opinions to the article? I think it might enhance viewers understanding.

I was curious about if you ever considered replacing the page layout of your site? It is very well written; I love what you have got to say. But maybe you could create a a bit more in the way of written content so people might connect with it better. You have got a great deal of text for only having one or two photos. Maybe you could space it out better?
