Our Final Prima Pretties!

Designer Projects 23 April 2010 | 83 Comments

Alas… the dream had to come to an end at some point this month.  We leave you with these final Prima Marketing and Couture Cardstock projects, and what lovely creations they are!

“She May Not {REMEMBER} But Mama Will”

To create the background for this layout, I used the Trash Bag Misting technique that I posted earlier this month. I then rubbed the chipboard word “remember” into the mist, and then embossed it with copper. After stamping Prima Marketing’s “Donna Downey Foam Stamp -  Wheat” in pale pink on the layout and photo, I then stamped onto cardstock with Tim Holtz’s Distress Ink, embossed lightly with copper, and then cut out and placed on top of the stamped image for a shadowing effect. I adore the Shabby Chic Collection from Prima, and this paper, “Apricot Tree” was one of my favorite things to work with this month!

Cardstock: White Monochromatic Family “Frosted, Alabaster Columns, Winter White”

I altered the Prima “Eline Flowers” by stamping and embossing the bottom layer, and lightly inking the top blossom with pale pink. I then misted them with water, scrunched, and used a hole puncher to distress the edges before they dried. I used Couture Cardstock’s White Monochromatic Collection to finish off edges of the photo by stamping floral borders.

“Layers”

Cardstock: White Monchromatic Family: Frosted, Winter White, Alabaster Columns, Snow White

A few words from designer, Jen Matott, about her project, “Layers”!

“This layout has lots of layers of paper and textures. I love adding lots of texture to my pages. I started with the Winter White paper and added die cuts and punched butterflies to create a mask. I sprayed Old Lace Glimmer Mist over the upper left side over the butterfly masks and let dry. After removing the masks, I started layering the torn strips of Prima papers with text and Canvas paper that had a lace border punch to create delicate detailing.

The next layer beneath that is from the Monochromatic White Collection in which I embossed butterflies and swiss dots. The left over packaging was perfect for a journaling tag. I loved the Winter White’s weight and texture. It held up well to my spraying and stitching the layers onto it.

Finally, I added a title, which was crackle painted (Prima chipboard letters from my stash), felt swirls, lace, bling and flowers. I love Prima’s details and textures on their product and it worked perfectly alongside these cardstock collections!”

Thanks for playing with us Prima!

xx Heidi

I have got one recommendation for your web page. It seems like right now there are a handful of cascading stylesheet troubles while opening a number of webpages in google chrome as well as internet explorer. It is running okay in internet explorer. Perhaps you can double check this.
