Technique Friday
*Check back later this morning for this Friday’s Monochromatic Giveaway winners!*
Hi, it’s Alyssa, back with you today for a quick, fun tutorial. Each Friday in November, one of the Couture designers will be providing a quick, easy, and fun tutorial designed to provide you with another creative way to use a staple we all have lots of: cardstock!
For today’s tutorial, I am going to show you how to create shimmering “stained glass” embellishments for your paper crafting projects.
Supplies:
Couture Cardstock: “Popcorn Ball” from Almost Autumn
Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist: “Tiger Lily, Walnut Gold, Olive Vine”
Stamp Zia: Butterfly Stamp
Stampabilities: “Brown” Pigment Ink
Other: Acrylic block, temporary adhesive
Step 1: Choose your Glimmer Mist colors. I chose Tiger Lily, Olive Vine, and Walnut Gold.
Step 2: Spray your Couture Cardstock “Popcorn Ball” in all three colors, one at a time, in a random pattern.

Step 3: Let dry thoroughly.
Step 4: Stamp your image OVER the dried Glimmer Mist. Stamps that have lots of open spaces within the image work best, since they allow your misted background to show through.

Step 5: After allowing your stamped image to dry, you can do one of three things: Use the entire sheet of Couture Cardstock as a background for your project, cut the image out in a square for mounting on a card, layout, or other project, or use “fussy cutting” to trim around the image to create an embellishment. I chose to cut mine out.
Step 6: Enjoy using your “stained glass” embellishment on your paper crafting project.
Thanks for coming by!
~Alyssa~
